1.Overview

GetToolFix runs a set of free online calculators and utilities. This policy explains, in ordinary language, what information passes through our servers when you use the site, what we do with it, and what say you have in the matter.

We built these tools to be fast and useful without asking you to sign up or hand over anything unnecessary. Most of our calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type into them are never sent to us. Where we do collect information, it’s mainly the standard technical data that keeps the site running and lets us understand which tools people actually use.

2.Information we collect

We keep this list short on purpose, because we keep our data collection short on purpose.

Usage dataPages visited, tool used, time on page, referring site, device type, browser, and approximate location (city/country level, derived from IP address). Collected automatically through analytics.
Calculator inputsIn almost all cases, the numbers or text you enter into a calculator are processed locally in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
Contact informationOnly if you email us or fill out a contact form: your name, email address, and whatever you write to us.
CookiesSmall text files used for analytics and, if applicable, advertising. See the Cookies section below.

We don’t ask you to create an account to use any tool on this site, and we don’t collect payment information because the tools are free.

3.How we use it

  • To keep the tools working. Basic technical logs help us catch errors and fix broken calculators.
  • To understand what’s useful. Aggregated usage data tells us which tools get used, so we know what to improve or build next.
  • To respond to you. If you email us, we use your message and contact details to reply.
  • To show relevant ads (if applicable). If the site displays advertising, ad partners may use cookies to show ads based on general interests rather than random ones.

We do not use your data to build a personal profile beyond what’s described above, and we don’t sell your personal information.

4.Cookies & similar technology

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We use them, or allow trusted partners to use them, for a few narrow purposes:

  • Essential cookies — needed for basic site functionality, like remembering a setting you chose.
  • Analytics cookies — help us see, in aggregate, how visitors use the site (for example, via Google Analytics).
  • Advertising cookies — if ads are shown on the site, ad networks may set cookies to serve and measure ads. This may involve sharing limited data with those networks.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Doing so may make some parts of the site behave slightly differently, but the calculators themselves will still work.

5.Third-party services

Like most websites, we rely on a small number of outside services to run GetToolFix. These providers process limited data on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics — website traffic and usage measurement.
  • Advertising networks (e.g. Google AdSense) — if ads are displayed, to serve and measure them.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — to keep the site online and secure.

We choose providers with reasonable privacy and security standards, but we don’t control how they process data beyond what they disclose in their own policies, which we’d encourage you to review if you want the full technical detail.

6.Do we sell or share your data?

No, we don’t sell your personal information, and we never will. We share data only:

  • With service providers who help operate the site (analytics, hosting, ads), strictly to perform those functions
  • If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GetToolFix or others
  • If the business is sold or transferred, in which case this policy would carry over to the new owner

7.How we protect it

We use standard safeguards — like HTTPS encryption on the site and access controls on our systems — to protect the limited data we hold. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can’t guarantee absolute security. If we ever became aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we’d take reasonable steps to notify you as required by applicable law.

8.How long we keep it

We keep analytics data only as long as needed to understand site trends, typically governed by the retention settings of the analytics tool itself. Messages you send us are kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for a reasonable period afterward, in case we need to refer back to them.

9.Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion of that data
  • Object to or limit certain processing
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we don’t sell data, but you can still opt out of analytics/ad cookies)

To exercise any of these, just reach out using the contact details below. We’ll respond within a reasonable timeframe and in line with applicable law.

10.Children’s privacy

GetToolFix isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we’ll remove it promptly.

11.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally as the site or applicable laws change. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We’d encourage checking back periodically, though we won’t make changes that reduce your rights without clear notice.
