This is an estimate for residential connections under 5 kW on the uniform tariff notified through SRO 279(I)/2026, which applies to government distribution companies and K-Electric. Connections of 5 kW and above are billed on time-of-use rates and are not covered. Monthly adjustments, arrears, meter rent and other charges vary, so your real bill may differ. Always check the amount printed on your own bill.

Electricity Bill Calculator Pakistan: What It Does

The Bijli Bill Calculator is a free online electricity bill calculator Pakistan tool that estimates your monthly electricity bill before the bill arrives. It uses the residential slab rates notified by NEPRA [https://nepra.org.pk] through SRO 279(I)/2026, and it adds the extra charges that make a bill so much bigger than “units multiplied by the rate”. There is no sign-up, and nothing you type is sent to a server.

What the electricity bill calculator Pakistan shows you

  • Your total bill in rupees, plus the average cost per unit.
  • The amount after the due date, so you know what a late payment will cost.

  • Share and copy buttons so you can send the result to your family on WhatsApp.

Why use an electricity bill calculator Pakistan?

Pakistani electricity bills are hard to predict. The rate depends on your slab, your consumer type and your sanctioned load, and taxes and adjustments change every month. A good electricity bill calculator Pakistan tool lets you check your bill before it arrives, spot a wrong charge, and plan how many units you can afford. It also shows you the exact point where your bill jumps, so you can change your habits before it happens.

Electricity tariff slabs in Pakistan for 2026

The domestic tariff used by the electricity bill calculator Pakistan has three consumer types. Your type decides your rate and your fixed charge. The rates below come from SRO 279(I)/2026, which has been in force since February 2026. For a longer explanation, read our guide to electricity tariff slabs in Pakistan [/electricity-tariff-slabs-pakistan/].

Unprotected, above 700 units: Rs 47.20 per unit, Rs 675 per kW fixed charge.

Protected, unprotected and lifeline: what is the difference?

Lifeline consumers use 100 units or less and get the lowest rates, with no fixed charge. Protected consumers have not used more than 200 units in any of the last six months and pay a much lower rate than unprotected users. Unprotected consumers pay the full rate for their slab. Your bill states your category. Our guide on protected and unprotected electricity consumers [/protected-unprotected-electricity-consumers/] explains how to keep protected status.

Why one extra unit can raise your bill so much

Unprotected bills use landing-slab billing. This means every unit is charged at the rate of the slab you reach, not just the extra units. At 200 units you pay Rs 28.91 on all of them. At 201 units all of them move to Rs 33.10, and the fixed charge also goes up. With the default settings and a 2 kW load, going from 200 to 201 units adds about Rs 1,165 to the bill. The electricity bill calculator Pakistan slab alert shows you this before it happens.

Example bills for 2026

These examples from the electricity bill calculator Pakistan use the default settings: a 2 kW load, FC surcharge of Rs 3.23 per unit, 1.5% electricity duty, 18% GST, and no monthly fuel or quarterly adjustment. Your own bill will differ slightly because those adjustments change every month.

  • Lifeline, 50 units: about Rs 237.
  • Protected, 100 units: about Rs 2,116.
  • Protected, 200 units: about Rs 4,587.
  • Unprotected, 200 units: about Rs 8,396.
  • Unprotected, 201 units: about Rs 9,561.
  • Unprotected, 300 units: about Rs 13,863.
  • Unprotected, 400 units: about Rs 19,936.

What is on your electricity bill?

  • Energy charges: units multiplied by the rate of your slab.
  • Fixed charges: a monthly charge per kilowatt of sanctioned load. Lifeline consumers do not pay it.
  • FC surcharge: a per-unit charge to repay power-sector financing costs.
  • QTA (quarterly tariff adjustment): a per-unit amount that can be a charge or a credit and changes every quarter.
  • FPA (fuel price adjustment): a per-unit amount that changes every month.
  • Electricity duty: a provincial duty of 1.5%.
  • GST: 18% sales tax added on top.

Tips to lower your electricity bill

  • Stay below the slab edge. Check your units mid-month with the electricity bill calculator Pakistan and cut use before you cross 100, 200, 300 or 400 units.
  • Keep protected status. Staying at 200 units or less each month keeps your rate far lower than the unprotected rate.
  • Use the air conditioner carefully. It is usually the biggest single cause of a high bill. Set it to 26 degrees and use a timer.
  • Switch to LED lights and efficient fans. They use a fraction of the power of old bulbs and fans.
  • Run heavy appliances less often. Water motors, irons and washing machines add up quickly.
  • Consider solar. If your bill is in a high slab every month, solar can pay for itself. Read our solar payback guide for Pakistan [/solar-payback-pakistan/] before you decide.

Yes. Since February 2026, government distribution companies such as LESCO [https://www.lesco.gov.pk] and K-Electric [https://www.ke.com.pk] charge the same uniform domestic tariff, so the electricity bill calculator Pakistan works for all of them.

Why is my bill higher than the electricity bill calculator Pakistan shows?

Protected consumers have not used more than 200 units in any of the last six months and pay lower rates. Unprotected consumers pay the full slab rate.
